One of Stoke's oldest houses has been saved from demolition after Stoke-on-Trent City Council refused planning permission for the works to go ahead.
Ford Green House, on Ford Green Road, Smallthorne, was built in the mid 19th century but has not been lived in for nearly 20 years.
The building has since fallen into a state of disrepair and become a hotspot for squatters and vandalism.
The owner, Mr Khan, submitted a planning application to the council in November 2022, seeking permission to demolish the property.
On Friday (3 March), a report was published stating that the application was recommended for refusal.
The report said that the site is of high value to the local area and demolition would have a harmful impact on highways.
It also stated: "The application is not of a sufficient standard to enable the case officer and others involved in the process to fully understand what is envisaged and also to provide a clear and unequivocal illustration upon which the application can be determined.
"Multiple attempts have been made to obtain the additional information required, however this has not been received."
