Greggs is set to open a new Stoke-on-Trent store within the "next few weeks".

The national bakery chain has confirmed it will be opening a new shop in Tunstall at the Alexandra Retail Park.

The old Costa is currently being renovated but Greggs hasn't yet confirmed which unit it will be moving into.

A Greggs spokesperson said: "Greggs is due to open a new shop in the Alexandra Retail Park within the next few weeks.

"We will be able to share further details with you closer to the opening."

The opening of the store will be Stoke-on-Trent's ninth Greggs outlet with 16 already in operation across North Staffordshire.

Costa at the Alexandra Retail Park shut for good in September last year and covers have recently been installed on the windows as the renovation work begins.
