Four Stoke restaurants reach finals of English Curry Awards

Four Stoke-based restaurants and takeaways have reached the finals of this year's prestigious English Curry Awards. 

The shortlisted finalists were chosen by the public who wanted to recognise those who deliver "outstanding culinary experiences and exceptional customer service".

A spokesperson for The English Curry Awards 2023 said: "The English Curry Awards promise to be a memorable event that honours the dedication and hard work of the nominees and celebrates the rich tapestry of flavours that the curry industry brings to the English culinary landscape."

The Stoke finalists are:

  • Alessi Indian Restaurant, Church Street, Stoke-on-Trent
  • Gandhi Indian Restaurant & Take Away, Saverley Green Road, Stoke-on-Trent
  • New Royal Balti, Church Street, Stoke-on-Trent
  • Planet Bollywood, Glebe Street, Stoke-on-Trent

New Royal Balti, on Church Street, thanked their customers for nominating them for the award (Google).

In a social media statement, New Royal Balti said: "And just like that we are finalists in the English Curry Awards. Thank you to everyone that has nominated us so far."

Gandhi Indian Restaurant & Takeaway said: "We are very excited to be at this year's English Curry Awards for the Best Restaurant in the Midlands, Best Chef and Best Takeaway."
