A food and drink festival is set to bring street food, artisan traders and live entertainment to Newcastle-under-Lyme this weekend.

Castle Food & Drink Fest will take place in the town centre on Saturday (25 July) from 10am to 4pm.

The free event, delivered by Newcastle-under-Lyme BID in collaboration with Independent Street and supported by 6 Towns Radio, will feature more than 30 food, drink and artisan traders.

Charl Pearce, BID Manager at Newcastle-under-Lyme BID, said: "Castle Food & Drink Fest is all about celebrating great food, supporting independent businesses and giving people another reason to spend the day in Newcastle.

Alongside food and shopping, Get Creative in Castle will be hosting a Natural Tie Dye Workshop with artist Holly Johnson at 2/3 Lancaster Building between 11am and 3pm, where families can bring along a white 100% cotton item, such as a T-shirt, tote bag or tea towel to transform using natural fruit and vegetable dyes.

Free face painting will also be available between 11am and 3pm, the first 50 visitors from 11.30am will receive a free ice cream courtesy of Rossi's Ices and there will be free trampolines with Warwicks Funfair throughout the day.

The team at 6 Towns Radio will also be hosting free to play Castle Bingo at 12pm and 2pm with 'Castle themed prizes and vouchers to spend with Newcastle-under-Lyme businesses as prizes.
