Firefighters attend 'deliberate' derelict building fire in Hanley

Fire crews were called to extinguish a fire at a derelict building in Stoke-on-Trent at the weekend.

Crews from Biddulph, Hanley, Longton and Newcastle and Staffordshire Police were called just after 1am on Saturday (12 August) to Hope Street, Hanley.

On arrival, fire crews found a derelict building well-alight and used breathing apparatus and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. 

The fire was deemed to be cause deliberately and the building has been secured. 

The fire was deemed to be caused deliberately and has been left with police (Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service).

Crews were at the scene on Saturday and Sunday (13 August) to work alongside our colleagues at Staffordshire Police. 

The incident has since been left with police.
