Fire which engulfed two vehicles and 20 tyres was 'accidental'

A fire in Stoke-on-Trent which engulfed two vehicles and 20 large tractor tyres in a storage unit was 'accidental'.
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue was called out to a business on Lower Bedford Street in Cliffe Vale after nearby residents saw huge plumes of black smoke billowing from the area at around 1:30pm on Friday (8 August).
Three fire engines were at the scene along with officers from Staffordshire Police. There were no injuries reported and fire investigators have now concluded the fire was caused accidentally.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue said: "Fire crews have extinguished a fire involving two vehicles and around 20 tractor tyres in a storage unit.
"We were called to Lower Bedford Street, Etruria, Stoke-on-Trent, at 1.35pm on Friday (8 August) following reports of smoke coming from the area.
"Three appliances attended the scene and used main jets and breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire
"Nobody was reported injured.
"The cause of the fire was later deemed to be accidental."
