Staffordshire Fire and Rescue has now extinguished a large fire at a country park in Stoke-on-Trent which started yesterday afternoon (8 April).

Firefighters were called out to Park Hall Country Park at 1:40pm on Tuesday to find a large grassland fire which had also spread to trees and gorse.

The flames were fully extinguished within an hour using two hose reel jets with nobody injured and an investigation has now been launched into the cause of the fire.

It comes after the Staffordshire fire service extinguished three fires in a field in Fenton on Sunday (6 April), along with a fire caused by an unattended campfire in Smallthorne and a large grass fire on Gentleshaw Common, in Staffordshire, on Friday (4 April).
