Fire crews battle accidental shed blaze in Blurton

Two Stoke-on-Trent fire crews have extinguished an accidental shed fire in Blurton, Stoke-on-Trent.

At 3.18pm on Sunday (26 March), Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a home in Blurton following reports of a shed fire.

Two crews in Longton were immediately sent to the scene and began work to contain the blaze with hose reel jets and breathing apparatus.

By 4.10pm, the fire had been extinguished.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service were called on Sunday afternoon to Blurton, Stoke-on-Trent (Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service).

Crews found a propane gas cylinder inside and made sure it was safe before speaking to the residents. 

After inspecting the cause, firefighters later deemed the fire to be accidental. The roof was being felted before the incident and had set alight during maintenance.
