"Robert was such a generous, kind person, who was loved by everyone he met.

"Robert loved travelling the world but was never happier than when he returned to Weston Coyney, where he dedicated himself to Caverswall Cricket Club and was the heartbeat of the local community.

"He was a much-loved son, brother, partner and friend who was taken from us far too soon."

Following the collision, the driver of the Honda stayed at the scene and has been helping officers with their enquiries.
