Some of the first-ever Disney merchandise is going under the hammer in Stoke this week, and it is probably older than you.

Eight ceramic figures - fittingly being sold in our pottery-connected town - will be auctioned off for a high price on Sunday April 30.

Potteries Auctions, of the Silverdale Enterprise Park, will be flogging the figurines for an estimate of £220 to £440.

The items date back to the late 1930s, made shortly after the release of the 1937 Disney flick Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, the first 2D animated feature film.

They come with 'Some minor flaking to cellulose finish to all figures, two of Docs fingers re-stuck'. (Image - Potteries Auctions)

What makes this auction even more special, is that the ceramic items were made in Burslem by the porcelain-makers Wade Ceramics Ltd.

Wade existed from 1867 until late in 2022 when they entered administration.

You can find more about the listing, view more images, and submit an early bid for this weekend's auction on this link.
