Eveything you need to know about the Lemmy statue unveiling in Burslem

On Friday 9 May the much-anticipated unveiling of the statue of Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister will take place in Burslem town centre.
The Lemmy Forever Stoke-on-Trent ceremony will begin at 4pm and Motörhead guitarist Phil Campbell will be in attendance to place Lemmy's ashes inside the statue - which is situated off Wedgwood Street outside the town hall.
There will also be guest speakers, a biker corteo to accompany Lemmy's ashes with a "21-rev salute" followed by the official unveiling of the statue in situ in Burslem town centre.
The musician, once described as having 'one of the most recognisable voices in rock', was born Ian Fraser Kilminster in Burslem. He joined the band Hawkwind in 1971, before forming Motörhead in 1975.
The statue has been crafted by acclaimed local sculptor and lifelong Motörhead fan Andy Edwards, best-known for his statue of the Beatles on Liverpool's Pier Head - captures Lemmy in his iconic pose with his bass guitar.
The monument on which the statue stands has been built by The Stone Surgeons and the 'Lemmy' lettering was crafted by Ricciardo of Lucetti Masonry.
Parking for the event in Burslem is at Port Vale Football Club and the 100m stretch of Market Place behind the town hall building will be closed on Friday.
Between 3pm and 7pm those driving into Burslem are told to allow extra travel time.
Local venues including the Old Post Office Bar and Ale House and Market Place Café will be offering themed refreshments, including a special Motörhead Roast of the Day.
In addition, Barewall Art Gallery in Burslem will also feature a special installation of rarely seen photographs and memorabilia celebrating Lemmy's life and legacy.
From 6:30pm, Grumpy's bar will host A Night of Music to Celebrate the Life of Lemmy with the Motörhead tribute band Motörwrecked. There will also be an auction of items supplied by Motörhead's record label and merchandise companies.
Music Mania will host an event at the Mitchell Arts Centre from 7.30pm to 10.30pm on Friday, featuring Motörhead tribute band Motörheadache.
And if you want more Lemmy-themed activities, then head over to the Canal St. Studio in Longport on Saturday from 10am for the "Ace of Spades Open Exhibition" celebrating the statue.
