Longton Exchange Shopping Centre's much-anticipated festive light switch on event is scheduled to take place on Saturday 25 November from 1pm.

The festivities will kick off with a showcase of local talent as various community groups descend on the centre to perform for the crowds.

A face painter will also be on hand to add a splash of colour and creativity to the faces of eager participants, while an engaging Christmas trail will wind its way through the centre.

The day promises to be fun-filled for all the family with various performances and activities taking place (Longton Exchange Shopping Centre).

The Ping Pong Parlour will be open throughout the day, promising a day filled with fun for attendees of all ages.

Specially selected characters will take centre stage to illuminate the town centre with the ceremonial switch on at 4pm, officially marking the start of the holiday season in Longton.
