Emergency services were called to Stratheden Road, Burslem, just after 4.40pm following a report of a crash involving a car and a bicycle.

The driver of the car, a black Ford Fiesta, drove off.

The rider of the bicycle was taken to hospital by Midlands Air Ambulance.

"We are asking anyone with any CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage of the area at the time to get in touch," Staffordshire Police said.

"Call 101, quoting incident 581 of 10 October, or use Live Chat on our website.
