Christmas Light Switch On events in Stoke and North Staffordshire

Christmas Light Switch On events are happening around Stoke and North Staffordshire over the next few weeks.
Here is a list of some of the festive events happening in and around the city:
Stoke
The Christmas Light Switch On in Stoke will take place on Friday 21 November from 6pm to 8pm at Stoke Minster.
Alongside the switch-on there will be a visit from Stoke-on-Trent Lord Mayor and Kevin the Kiln, live music and artisan stalls.
Stoke Minster said: "Get ready for a night of magic, music, and festive cheer as we kick of the season in style!"
Hanley
The Potteries Artisan Market and Christmas Light Switch On will take place at Fountain & Market Square, Hanley on Saturday 22 November.
Stoke-on-Trent City Centre Bid and The Potteries Centre have come together to organise the event which will feature an artisan market, live music, food stalls and face painting.
The market will open from 10am with Santa's arrival parade through the city centre starting at 11am.
Winter Wonderland in Hanley will also return on Friday 21 November.

Newcastle under Lyme
The Newcastle Christmas Light Switch On event, Light Up Castle 2025, will be on Sunday 23 November.
The event, by Newcastle-under-Lyme BID, Valcato and Castle Artisan Market will take place from 12pm to 7pm.
There will be live music, an artisan market, and family activities.
Longton
The Longton Christmas Light Switch On will take place at the Longton Exchange Shopping Centre on Saturday 29 November from 11am.
There will also be an Artisan and Cultural Fair at the event with arts, crafts and food stalls.
Longton Artisan and Cultural Fair said: "Enjoy the cozy stalls, festive atmosphere, and the excitement of the big light switch-on!"

Burslem
The Burslem Community Hub will be running the first ever Burslem Park Christmas event including their first Christmas Tree.
The event will take place on Friday 28 November at 6:30pm.
There will be stalls and food available, and local schools will be running a lantern parade and bringing their school choirs to perform.

Kidsgrove
The Christmas Light Switch On and Lantern Parade in Kidsgrove will take place on Saturday 29 November.
Santa will lead the lantern parade which will start at 4:30pm at St Thomas' Church.
B arts Stoke will also be running lantern making workshops ahead of the parade on Saturday 15 November and 22 November at Kidsgrove Labour Club from 11am to 4pm.
Meir
Meir Park Residents Association is organising the Community Christmas Fayre and Lights Switch On in Meir Park on Saturday 29 November.
The event will take place from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, with the switch on happening at 6pm.
There will also be a free visit to see Santa for all children, a Christmas Fayre and live entertainment.

Leek
The Leek Christmas Light Switch On will take place on Friday 21 November and the countdown will begin just before 6:30pm.
There will be Fairground rides, local Christmas market stalls, live entertainment and more.
There will be lots of local Trade Stalls and local Charity Stalls in the Market Place and on Derby Street, plus the Butter Market and a Twilight market in the Trestle Market.
Biddulph
The Biddulph Christmas Light Switch-On event, run by the Biddulph Town Council, will be on Saturday 29 November from 4:30pm in the town centre.
The light switch-on will take place at 6pm but there will be a Santa's grotto, funfair rides, market stalls and live performances throughout the event.
Biddulph Town Council said: "Wrap up warm, bring your loved ones, and join us for an evening of festive fun, laughter, and community cheer as we light up Biddulph for Christmas!"
Brown Edge
The Brown Edge Christmas Lights and Market event will take place on Friday 28 November from 6pm with the Christmas Light Switch On at 7pm
The event, organised by Brown Edge carnival and Well Dressing, will feature over 30 market stalls, a Santa's grotto and children's Christmas karaoke.
