Car left on roof after two-vehicle crash in Stoke-on-Trent

A crash involving two vehicles near Tunstall left a car on its roof this morning (8 May).

Officers from Staffordshire Police were called to a crash between a van and a car on the A527 Reginald Mitchell Way, off the A500, in Tunstall at 6:40am this morning.

A car was found flipped onto its roof and the van involved was found parked on Chemical Lane. The two drivers were checked over by paramedics and no injuries were reported.

The car has now been recovered and both drivers checked over.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "We were called at 6.40pm today (Thursday 8 May) to Reginald Mitchell Way in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, following reports of a collision on Spitfire Way.

"One vehicle was found on its roof. Another vehicle, a van, was involved in the collision before being found parked on Chemical Lane. 

"We closed the road while one man was assessed by paramedics at the scene. 

"The driver of the van was also checked over and spoken to by officers. 

"No injuries were reported. The vehicle on its roof was recovered from the scene a short time later. 

"The road re-opened at around 8am."
