Busy Stoke-on-Trent junction to close for around eight weeks

The junction at Windmill Hill, Sandon Road, Hilderstone Road and Common Lane will be closed for around eight weeks (Nub News).

A busy junction in Stoke-on-Trent is set to close for around eight weeks whilst the carriageway is resurfaced.

Road closures will be in place around Windmill Hill, Common Lane, Hilderstone Road and Sandon Road between 21 October and 13 December.

Staffordshire County Council will be resurfacing the carriageway and carrying out other improvement works to drainage, kerbs and iron work.

A Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order says: "NOTICE is hereby given that Staffordshire County Council on 15/10/2024 intends to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in that length of Windmill Hill in Rough Close approximately from The Laurels to the junction with Grindley Lane and all approaches from Common Lane, Grindley Lane, Sandon Road & Hilderstone Road unless the vehicle is being used in connection with the works; or unless the vehicle requires access to properties on the length of road or is being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes. 

"The order will come into operation on 21st October 2024 and the said works will commence on or as near as practicable to that date.

"It is anticipated that the works will be completed by 13th December 2024."
