Two brothers have been jailed for drug offences after Staffordshire Police found £11,000 in cash and more than 15 packs of crack cocaine and heroin in Stoke-on-Trent.

On Friday (3 March) at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, Jake Marshall, 29, of Blurton, was jailed for four years and eight months after admitting being concerned in the supply of heroin and cocaine.

His brother, Liam Marshall, 31, of Trent Vale, received a three year sentence after admitting possession with intent to supply heroin and cocaine.

The court heard how Jake was stopped by officers whilst travelling in a taxi on the A50 in April 2021. He was searched and was found to be in possession of £130 in cash and two mobile phones.

The brothers were sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Friday 3 March (Sarah Garner).

Staffordshire Police then searched an associated address in Stoke-on-Trent and found a number of items, including;

  • More than 10 packs of crack cocaine - valued at around £1,290
  • More than 10 grams of heroin - believed to be worth around £640
  • £11,000 in cash

Following the discovery, Jake was arrested and taken to custody for questioning.

His brother, Liam, later handed himself into police and made a full admission to the offences after being interviewed.

Officers then found Jake's DNA on the drugs and messages on the phone which showed that the drugs were being actively sold in the local community.
