A new family-run distillery, bar and shop opens tomorrow (Saturday 25 February) at World of Wedgwood, Barlaston.

The 1050 square meter Bros distillery will produce Sixtowns products and include a retail shop and bar as well as gin and cocktail masterclasses.

Visitors will be able to purchase Sixtowns bottles and hampers, enjoy the dog-friendly bar area and tours of the distillery will be available to book from next month.

The distillery is located at the far end of the World of Wedgwood courtyard (Sarah Garner).

Sixtowns owners,  Vitalijs and Alex Rackovs, from Latvia, had the idea for the distinct kiln-shaped bottles back in 2018, but it wasn't until the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 that they had time to launch their business.

They said: "We are beyond delighted to announce the launch of our new distillery location at World of Wedgwood in Stoke-on-Trent! From its idyllic setting and rich Potteries history, this site is absolutely perfect for us."

All Sixtowns products will be handmade on site (Sarah Garner).

Jemma Harrison, Head of World of Wedgwood, said: "The new Sixtowns distillery, joins our own Barlaston factory, Josiah and Co. and Lunar, in showcasing the very best craftsmanship that Stoke-on-Trent has to offer. The beautiful cocktail bar encourages our visitors to extend their stay into the evening and enjoy a pre-dinner tipple on the very site where their luxury spirits are produced.

"It is a huge pleasure to welcome Vitalijs, Alex and the Sixtowns team to World of Wedgwood and see their incredible vision come to life."

The bar area is also dog-friendly (Sarah Garner).

To mark their official opening, Sixtowns are hosting a party tomorrow night focusing on the distillery bar and all attendees will receive a glass of fizz on arrival before enjoying a night of music and celebration.

Full opening hours will commence the following week from Wednesday 1st March, Wednesday to Sunday, 10.00a.m. to 11.00p.m.

Signature cocktails, gins, soft drinks and coffee will be available from the bar (Sarah Garner).
