Stoke-on-Trent City Council have approved plans for a brand-new pavilion at a local park this week.
The existing pavilion at Middleport Park, on Navigation Street, is currently vacant due to its poor condition and will be demolished to make way for the new building.
Case officer, Chris Bates, said: "The design of the pavilion in aspiring to be a community facility proposes a more contemporary outlook than the one in situ with an external finish comprising a mixture of brick and a composite fascia complete with a flat roof featuring solar panels."
The new pavilion will be built with red and brown brick and have white UPVC windows and doors.
The open community space inside the pavilion will have five tables with space for up to 20 visitors as well as indoor toilets.
Work on the new building is expected to begin in the coming months.
