Stoke City Community Trust will stage the Big Sleep Out for the eighth time in February next year.

The charitable initiative, which will take place on 23 February, will raise awareness of homelessness within Stoke-on-Trent.

Participants get first-hand experience of what it's like to brave the elements overnight as they bed down inside and outside the Franklyn Stand concourse, all whilst raising much-needed funds for local charities.

The event will start at 6pm in the evening and end the following morning at 8am, when breakfast baps will be served.

Participants will aim to raise awareness of homelessness by spending the night at the Franklyn Stand (Nub News).

Those taking part must be 11 or over, however, for anyone under 18, they must be accompanied by an adult/guardian and have parental permission to attend.

For those unable to attend, the Community Trust are encouraging people to take part in the Big Sleep Out at home by sleeping in their garden or on their floors.

Supporters are encouraged to raise at least £100, with a deposit of £20 contributing towards the donation. The charities who will benefit are the Macari Foundation and Stoke City Community Trust.
