Around three months of roadworks will begin on a busy road in Stoke-on-Trent later this month.

Multi-way signals will be in place around Lysander Road whilst carriageway widening works are carried out between the A50 roundabout and the roundabout which leads to Tesco.

The work will begin on Monday 25 March and is expected to take around 12 weeks to complete.

The roadworks will be between the A50 roundabout and the roundabout for Tesco (Google).

Councillor Amid Wazir said: "The works are aimed at reducing congestion on Lysander Road between the A50 roundabout and the roundabout which leads to Tesco Meir Park.

"It will include the widening of the carriageway, the introduction of an additional lane and a new zebra crossing.

"We would like to reassure residents and drivers that disruption will be kept to a minimum during this time."
