National Highways will enforce a carriageway closure from 20 to 25 November between 9pm and 6am whilst CCTV upgrades are carried out.

The A50 will be closed from the start of the 40mph speed limit to the end of Meir Tunnel and one lane will be closed between Blythe Bridge and Meir.

A spokesperson for National Highways told Stoke Nub News: "To maintain the safe operation of the A50 Meir Tunnel in Stoke-on-Trent and keep road users safe we're upgrading the CCTV system from Monday 20 November.

"To enable us to carry out the work safely we need to close the tunnel overnight in both directions.

"The closures take place from 9pm to 6am for five nights with traffic being diverted along the exit and entry slip roads either side of the tunnel."
