Around 60 authors are coming to the Kings Hall, Stoke, on 2 September to chat to readers and sign books in aid of two local charities.

Tales-on-Trent will see authors across many genres sit on organised panels, giving readers an insight into their works.

All profits from ticket sales and a raffle will be donated to local mental health charity, Changes, and Dougie Mac

The event organiser, Claire Birkin, told Stoke Nub News: "I have always been a huge supporter of reading and promoting authors as I believe the benefits of reading are massive. It gives us empathy, understanding and an escape from the everyday.

"These events are always so friendly and this is a great opportunity to hold one in my home city which I love and also raise funds for charity."

Funds will be donated to local charities, Changes and Dougie Mac (Tales-on-Trent).

The last event took place in May 2022 and over £600 was raised for Changes.
