A man has been charged with rape of a 13-year-old child in Stoke-on-Trent.

Simon Murch, 54, from Sheffield, is due to appear at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 21 August charged with rape of a girl under 13.

It comes after police received a report of rape on Sunday (16 July).

Police are urging anyone who has experienced a sexual offence, or anyone who is concerned that someone you care about might be at risk, to report it anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

You can also report it to police through 101 and speak to specialist officers in confidence.
