A dementia care village operator, with a location in Newcastle-under-Lyme, has been named one of the top 20 in the UK by a leading online review site.

Specialist dementia care village operator Belong, which has a location on Lower Street, Newcastle-under-Lyme, has been listed as a Top 20 Mid-size Care Home Group by online review site Carehome.co.uk.

The rankings are based on verified customer reviews, with Belong achieving an average review score of 9.8 out of 10 from residents and their relatives across its eight villages in the North West for the past year.

Belong Newcastle-under-Lyme also achieved a respective score of 9.9.

Customers leaving reviews are asked to rate all aspects of a care home's offering, including its people, care and support, management, facilities, and overall value for money.

One recent five-star review from the son of a resident at Belong Newcastle-under-Lyme said: "Mum went to live at Belong when she reached the stage of being unable to manage on her own at home. Anyone who has dealt with finding a suitable care home for a loved one will know how stressful it can be.

"Belong is so much better than any other care home I have experience of (and that is many). All the staff are exceptionally well trained. They create a family environment and are totally dedicated, caring and loving.

"Mum could not have been happier anywhere else and was loved and cared for by all the staff, from managers and team leaders to other care professionals and domestic workers. I was treated in a similar way: always welcome and part of the extended family.
