The Motability Scheme is a great way for those who are in receipt of a Mobility Allowance to lease a brand-new vehicle, with the cost of everything except fuel covered.

Stoke Audi, part of Swansway Motor Group takes us through the scheme and what it involves.

To be eligible for the Motability Scheme, you must be in receipt of one of the following 5 Mobility Allowances:

  • Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
  • Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA)
  • Enhanced Rate Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP)
  • War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement (WPMS)
  • Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)

On the Motability Scheme, drivers will receive a brand-new car every three years, alongside this, the scheme also includes:

  • Insurance for your vehicle
  • Breakdown cover
  • Servicing
  • Maintenance and repairs
  • Road tax
  • Window and windscreen repair/replacement
  • Up to 60,000 miles mileage allowance over 3 years or up to 100,000 miles mileage allowance over 5 years for Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs).

Meaning all that's left to think about is the cost of fuel.

Adaptations can be made to vehicles to help people find a car that suits their individual needs, these adaptations can be made at no extra cost.

Each Motability driver can add up to three drivers to their vehicle, this allows their family, friends or carer to drive the vehicle.

The Motability Scheme covers a range of makes and models, including the Audi vehicles that are currently on the scheme; A1, A1, Q2 and Q4 e-tron. At Stoke Audi, their Motability specialists are on hand to help guide you in your decision.

You can find out more about the Motability Scheme and the Audi vehicles currently available on the Swansway website.
