Drivers across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire have plenty to look forward to, with our motor partner BYD Stoke continuing to expand its range with a host of new electric and plug-in hybrid models.

With the popularity of electric and electrified vehicles continuing to grow, BYD Stoke is preparing for an exciting period as some of the brand's newest models make their way to the UK.

Among the biggest arrivals are the new BYD Ti 7 DM-p and BYD SHARK, bringing two very different takes on plug-in hybrid technology to the BYD line-up.

Meet the new BYD Ti 7

The Ti7 is set to become BYD's largest and most versatile model in the UK, and its arrival marks an important milestone for the brand as its first seven-seat SUV for the UK market.

Designed with families and active lifestyles in mind, the Ti 7 combines a rugged, boxy exterior with a more premium interior and BYD's DM-p plug-in hybrid technology.

The model measures more than five metres long and uses a combination of petrol and electric power, producing 408PS, while offering an electric-only range of up to 74 miles.

For families looking for the practicality of a large SUV without moving exclusively to a conventional petrol or diesel powertrain, the Ti 7 could offer an interesting alternative.

The BYD SHARK is coming

Another headline arrival is the BYD SHARK, the brand's first pick-up.

Designed to combine the practicality and capability expected from a pick-up with BYD's plug-in hybrid technology, the SHARK features four-wheel drive and the company's DMO off-road technology.

The five-seat double-cab pick-up produces 436PS, can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 5.7 seconds and has a towing capacity of up to 2,500kg.

It can also travel for up to 55 miles on electric power alone, according to its WLTP figures.

There's plenty of technology packed into the SHARK too, including a large 15.6-inch touchscreen and Vehicle-to-Load capability, allowing electrical equipment to be powered directly from the vehicle.

BYD has confirmed that the SHARK will initially go on sale in the UK during 2026, before expanding into selected European markets.

BYD's range continues to grow

The Ti 7 and SHARK are just two examples of how quickly BYD's UK line-up is expanding.

The manufacturer now offers a growing selection of fully electric and plug-in hybrid models, including the DOLPHIN SURF, DOLPHIN, ATTO 2, ATTO 3 EVO, SEAL, SEALION 7, SEAL U DM-i and SEALION 5 DM-i, alongside newer models such as the DOLPHIN G DM-i and SEAL 6 DM-i Touring.

The brand's approach means motorists don't necessarily have to choose between an all-electric vehicle and a traditional petrol car.

BYD's Super DM plug-in hybrid models are designed to prioritise electric driving while retaining a petrol engine for longer journeys.
