Job Overview

This role is accountable for the delivery of the preventative maintenance plan, and ensuring key assets are achieving their optimum level of performance within the production process. The role encompasses both preventative and reactive maintenance tasks across all equipment and facilities based on site. The role requires a person who is flexible, passionate, and professional who is methodical and structured in their approach.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure maximum machine productivity and 'uptime' through reactive and proactive maintenance tasks utilising the PPM plan
  • Identify and implement improvements to the PPM schedule based upon PPM findings, lifed/failed component analysis, machine efficiency, breakdown information and effective departmental/ inter-departmental communication.
  • Ensure the highest level of safety of both themselves,collegues and all personnel within the manufacturing site at all times.
  • Support the production departments with engineering expertise to provide an effective complimentary service to these areas.
  • Support the engineering department as a whole, providing support where required for project ,development and installation work

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required

Essential

  • A dual skilled, maintenance engineer, educated to ONC+ or equivalent with experience within a production based environment
  • Experience delivering and improving Planned Preventative Maintenance routines
  • Experience of reactive maintenance through recognised fault finding procedures
  • Good communication skills - the role will require interaction with production management at multiple levels of the business.
  • An excellent safety ethic where health and safety are at the forefront of all tasks.

Advantageous

  • Experience of creating Preventative Maintenance Routines from a failure mode perspective
  • Experience of suggesting and implementing improvements to existing equipment and processes
  • Experience within a ceramics based industry
