Contract £45.24per hour PAYE or £56.94 per hour limited paid via Umbrella company inside IR35

Our client is looking for an experienced Environmental Protection Team manager.

To actively and effectively manage the day to day operation of the Council s Environmental Protection Team in accordance with the Council s decisions, Scheme of Delegation, Standing Orders and Financial Regulations and operational policies and procedures and to develop the Service in accordance with the policies, practices, priorities and standards set by the Council.

To manage the effective delivery of the following statutory functions delivered by the team:

• Investigation of statutory nuisance
• Regulation of pollution control from industrial premises
• Regulation of Clean Air Act
• Regulation of Private Water Supplies
• Local Authority Air Quality Work
• Contaminated Land
• Consultee to Licensing
• Consultee to Planning Department

To ensure the delivery of high quality, customer focussed, cost effective service by creating a high performing service and people-focussed culture through effective people management, team, inter service/directorate and, where appropriate, partnership working.

To be responsible for the efficient execution of the range of duties and commensurate with the professional competence of a qualified Environmental Health Officer (EHRB registered).
