Due to business growth, we have a new vacancy for a Graduate Geospatial Analyst to join our successful Geospatial Team (GIS) based in our Stoke-on-Trent Office. The role is open to anyone from graduate up to 2 years of experience.
The role
As a Graduate Geospatial Analyst, you will provide GIS input into projects across many internal Service Areas/Technical Disciplines, including but not limited to planning, ecology, engineering, landscape, energy and climate change, archaeology and heritage and infrastructure projects. Your work will be varied and will include:
- Georeferencing and digitising map data
- Creating maps and drawings for various reports
- Preparing teams for site data collection through the set up and development of applications such as ESRI Field Maps or Survey123
- Preparation and maintenance of data in ArcGIS Online
- Creating, capturing, managing and analysing of data in GIS from multiple sources and in a variety of formats
- Undertake geoprocessing using various GIS software including ESRI ArcGIS and QGIS
- Working as part of a team to deliver projects to tight deadlines and budgets
- Adhere to business QA processes and standards for data management and drawing outputs
- Contribution to the smooth operation of the GIS team through active participation in team resource calls, supervision systems and knowledge sharing
About you
Candidates will have:
- A degree qualification in GIS, Geography or a related field
- Proficient in the use of ESRI ArcGIS Pro
- Working knowledge and experience of geodatabases
- Experience using ArcGIS Online, including familiarity with using various ArcGIS Online applications including ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123
- Good knowledge of UK environmental and Ordnance Survey datasets
- Experience undertaking geospatial analysis and managing data in GIS environments (i.e. ArcGIS systems and QGIS)
- Experience producing high quality cartographic outputs
- Conscientious worker with the ability to deliver to a consistent high standard with a keen eye for detail
- Highly proficient in use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Access etc)
