We are looking for a Warehouse team leader who is passionate about maintaining safe working practices and fostering an inclusive working culture for this growing manufacturing business in Newcastle - Under - Lyme. Working as part of a small team you will be looking after a team of 6-8 operatives, looking after everything from goods in to goods out, coordinating tasks such as receiving, picking, packing, and dispatching, and maintaining high standards of inventory control, productivity, and workplace safety. This is a new role to the business created due to significant investment and growth. Operating in this new facility opened at the start of 2025, you will have access to the latest technology and staffing areas have been designed with the team in mind.
The role as a warehouse team leader
- Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including inbound and outbound shipments, stock replenishment, and order fulfilment.
- Lead, coach, and motivate a team of warehouse operatives to meet performance targets.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and promote a clean and organized work environment.
- Monitor and manage inventory accuracy through cycle counts and stock audits.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., procurement, customer service) to resolve delivery or inventory issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies and suggesting improvements.
- Ensure accurate completion of all relevant paperwork and warehouse documentation.
- Train new staff and provide ongoing development for team members.
- Operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment as required
Skills and Qualifications required in this Warehouse Team Leaders Role.
- Proven experience (typically 2+ years) in a warehouse or distribution environment, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills (e.g., MS Office, scanners).
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
- Forklift license (counterbalance, reach truck, or similar) Skills:
- Experience in lean warehousing or continuous improvement projects (e.g., 5S, Kaizen).
- Working knowledge of KPIs and performance reporting in warehouse operations.
- Background in logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing environments
The Benifits of this Team Leaders Role
- Basic Salary of £33,000 pa
- Monday - Thursday 7am - 4.30pm Friday 7am - 1pm
