Stoke-on-Trent City Council is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Occupational Therapy Team Manager to join our Adult Social Care Services. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and shape a dedicated OT team within a progressive local authority committed to improving lives through personalised, empowering support.

You'll play a vital leadership role in driving high standards of practice, promoting professional development, and ensuring our service users experience seamless, outcome-focused care that maximises independence and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of Occupational Therapists delivering adult social care interventions across the city

  • Ensure people are fully involved in their care planning and supported to achieve meaningful outcomes

  • Champion occupational therapy within the organisation and across the wider health and social care system

  • Identify and address system barriers to ensure efficient service delivery

  • Provide expert clinical leadership and supervision, encouraging reflective practice and continuous learning

  • Maintain a strong focus on diversity, human rights, and ethical decision-making

  • Support innovation and service development, using feedback from people who use the service to drive improvement

  • Deputise for the Strategic Manager - Local Communities and collaborate with other team managers as required

Requirements:
  • HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist

  • Significant experience within adult social care, including complex case management and service development

  • Proven leadership ability, with experience supervising or managing multidisciplinary staff

  • Strong knowledge of housing adaptations, equipment provision, and manual handling

  • Confident in applying legal, ethical and rights-based frameworks to practice

  • Committed to promoting equality, inclusion, and person-centred approaches in all areas of service
