Are you a seasoned leader in residential childcare, ready to take on a strategic leadership role? Our client, an established and highly regarded provider specialising in Learning Disabilities & Autism (LD&A), is seeking an Assistant Service Director to oversee and support 4 residential homes across the Staffordshire region.

About the Role:

As Assistant Service Director, you will provide operational and strategic leadership across the region, ensuring the homes deliver exceptional care and remain compliant with regulatory standards. While you won t be required to hold Registered Individual (RI) status, you ll work closely with Registered Managers and senior leadership to drive quality and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Leadership:

    • Oversee the effective running of 4 LD&A homes, ensuring high-quality care and compliance with standards.
    • Monitor performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement action plans.
  • Team Development:

    • Support, mentor, and guide Registered Managers to achieve service excellence.
    • Lead by example, fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and compassion.
  • Strategic Oversight:

    • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement regional strategies.
    • Ensure services align with organisational values and meet the needs of service users and stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance:

    • Conduct audits and evaluations to maintain high standards across all homes.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance outcomes for service users.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Build strong relationships with families, local authorities, and healthcare partners.
    • Represent the organisation positively and professionally in all external engagements.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a senior operational role within LD&A or residential childcare settings.
  • Strong understanding of Learning Disabilities & Autism care and relevant regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to drive results while maintaining a person-centred approach.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Staffordshire.
