This post represents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join a team of staff in Keele University's Estates and Campus Services Directorate.

The post holder will carry out the testing of the Emergency Lighting systems we have at the University.

This will include the monthly short functional (Flick Testing) and annual testing as set out in the British Standard BS5266 Part 1. Carry out Carrying out functional 6 monthly testing of RCD, RCBO devices to satisfy the requirements of BS7671-2018.

When the duties of carrying out the testing and reporting of the Emergency Lighting systems are completed you will then be assisting the Mechanical and Electrical Team in the maintenance, repair and modifications of all aspects of work whilst providing the highest level of customer service across the University's estate.

The successful candidate will have minimum of grade C in GCSE Maths and English or equivalent along with appropriate experience with the testing of Emergency Lighting systems and fault reporting. The successful applicant will have strong organisation, planning, communication, customer service and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team.

The post holder will have access to a range of facilities on campus including shops, food and drink outlets and sports centre with staff discount available in some areas.

Normal hours of work are 38.5 per week Monday – Friday.
