Project Engineer

We are seeking a Project Engineer to manage a range of engineering projects from simple product designs to complex assembly projects with cross-departmental deliverables. This role requires a self-driven individual who can autonomously gather necessary information and resources to complete tasks, produce detailed reports, and design new products and assemblies.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Liaise internally and externally with departments, customers, and suppliers to facilitate effective communication and ensure deadlines are met, both remotely via video conference and locally in person.
- Travel to other locations or customer/supplier sites globally as required for project and design meetings.
- Support the quotation process by creating Bills of Materials (BoMs), labour estimations, feasibility reports, and tooling reviews.
- Assist in the RoM process by estimating components, pricing, labour, and processes to provide the required information.
- Design and develop new products and assemblies to meet project requirements, managing all associated documents and processes.
- Create 2D and 3D design drawings and documents using CAD software.
- Produce prototype products and assemblies, coordinating with relevant internal and external departments to meet performance requirements and deadlines.
- Provide flexible support to the engineering department as needed to meet the demands of the business.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to form relationships with multicultural colleagues; must have excellent written and spoken English skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage own time and priorities effectively.
- Project management experience is advantageous.
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in an engineering role within a relevant industry.
- Profound knowledge and working experience in cable assembly, wire harnessing, and electro-mechanical assembly.
- Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office 365 workspace.
- Proficiency in CAD software including 2D/3D (Solid Edge, Solid Works, AutoCAD, Harnware, Catia).
- Physical and mental capability to carry out all tasks required.
