Operations Manager Stoke on Trent £50,000 - £55,000 DOE SF Recruitment are recruiting for an Operations Manager for our established manufacturing client based in Stoke on Trent. Key Aims: - On time, on quality and on cost delivery of post-fabrication processes, galvanised and/or coated parts for delivery to customers - Lead, promote and manage achievement of exceptional level of Health & Safety compliance and culture - Ensure all processes adhere to current internal and ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 standards and continually develop performance, processes and output - Combined planning, budgeting and management of processes collaborating with other Operations staff and leaders and other functions around the business - Lead and develop staff inclusively, maintaining and developing competencies and capabilities to meet current and future strategic needs Key Duties: - Ensure department employs safe working practices at all times and oversee all scheduled H&S activities, implementing H&S improvements as appropriate, identifying and reporting all H&S issues in a timely manner and increasing and promoting awareness of H&S within the department - Ensure all staff are properly skilled, trained and equipped for the tasks required e.g. correct PPE is always worn, all new starters are fully inducted and trained for the required tasks, all operatives are following appropriate SSOW - Lead the team in SAP usage for optimal data processing, analysis and planning. - Toolbox talks and regular shift meetings with all shifts including night workers. - Creation of production schedules in all plants. - Stock management and rotation and ordering of consumable materials. - Support development of new and existing external/internal customer base. - Support estimating and pricing new/potential orders. - Liaising with external contractors, galvanizing and powder coating suppliers to ensure risk management and capacity continuity. - Schedule and oversee maintenance projects in line with TPM programmes both preventative and proactive. - Ensure required quality standards are promoted, measured, maintained and improved - Ensure all quality checks are carried out and recorded correctly - Agree and manage production KPI's with the team - Regularly review production performance with the team - Seek and implement best practice for production processes - Effectively manage manning levels to achieve required output - Collaborate and liaise across the business as needed to ensure smooth performance delivery of own and other teams and meet business reporting needs - Understand the changing needs of your staff and deploy strategies and tactics to enhance workplace wellbeing and overall employee satisfaction - Identify appropriate development and training for direct reports including underperformers and high performers - Report all maintenance issues in a timely manner and take responsibility for ensuring they are remedied Requirements: - 5 GCSEs or equivalent including English Language and Mathematics - Level 3 or above management qualification - At least five years in a similar role - Excellent people skills - Proficient SAP Business One experience - Proficient with ERP systems & Microsoft Office software - Good standard of numeracy and literacy - Excellent communicator
