Maintenance Engineer (Multi-Skilled) Stoke Fulltime (39 hours per week) Shift work: Days and NoonsUp to £45k A long-standing, well known global business based in the heart of Stoke-on-Trent, are looking to expand their Maintenance Team. Role: We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer (Multi-Skilled) to join our dynamic engineering team based at our Stoke Head Office. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our manufacturing operations, As the Maintenance Engineer (Multi-Skilled), based in Stoke, you ll be part of a collaborative and supportive team delivering high-quality maintenance solutions across the factory. You will work on a wide range of mechanical and electrical systems, provide engineering support to production teams, and help drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance equipment reliability, energy efficiency, and operational performance. Key Responsibilities will include:
- Perform engineering repairs, preventative maintenance, and project work to a high standard, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) system and maintain accurate records within engineering stores and databases.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment faults efficiently, ensuring safe and timely repairs.
- Ensure all maintenance work is carried out in line with Health & Safety legislation and company risk assessments, promoting a safety-first culture at all times.
- Work with external contractors as required, ensuring all service and maintenance activities are completed to agreed standards and timescales.
- Identify and implement improvements to processes and equipment to enhance energy efficiency and reduce waste.
- Maintain and oversee the functionality of key factory services, including:
- Gas, electricity, and water supplies
- Compressed air systems
- Heating and ventilation
- Effluent treatment
- Compliance-related systems such as PAT testing, gas safety checks, EICR, LEV, insurance inspections, forklifts, and pressure vessels.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards across all engineering activities.
- Take an active part in identifying your personal training needs and enthusiastic to undertake additional training required.
- Time-served apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering).
- Strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
- Good working knowledge of Health & Safety standards and legislation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Experience using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems).
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on approach to maintenance.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Any additional qualifications/certifications would be welcomed.
- Knowledge of factory utilities and compliance processes.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and quality assurance procedures would be desirable but not necessary.
