Job description

We are seeking a skilled an engineering labourer with mig welding experience to join our clients team in Cheadle, Staffordshire ST10

The successful candidate will be responsible for welding metal components with welding equipment as specified by layouts, engineering drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions.

The Mig Welder will also be responsible for maintaining and repairing welding equipment, as well as ensuring that the work environment remains clean, safe and orderly.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine specifications
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
• Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material
• Maintain and repair welding equipment
• Ensure that the work environment remains clean, safe and orderly
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Mig Welder
• Knowledge of welding tools and equipment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
• Good understanding of welding safety guidelines
• Excellent physical condition and hand-eye coordination
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
