Electrical Design Engineer, Stoke-on-Trent, up to £50,000pa

Purpose

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you ll be instrumental in the new product development of industrial automation systems, getting involved with the design of panel and field installations. Working for a well-established, family run business, you ll work on developing their renowned systems from concept through to on-site installation.

Responsibilities

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will:

• Design control panel layouts, integrating PLCs, HMIs and Drive Systems
• Create schematics and wiring diagrams for assembly and field wiring
• Generate machine safety circuit design and risk assessments to BS EN standards
• Prepare supporting technical documentation and Bills of Materials for each project.
• Assist with hands-on test and development, as well as onsite commissioning where appropriate.

Background

The successful Electrical Design Engineer will have:

• An electrical qualification such as BTEC, NVQ or similar
• Hold an 18th Edition wiring regulations qualification
• Have a working knowledge of electrical safety requirements
• Be confident with the use of CAD, preferably AutoCAD.
• Preferably have knowledge of PLC control wiring systems and instrumentation.
