The Opportunity

This post represents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join the Climate Ambassador's West Midlands Hub based at Keele University as part of a national project driving sustainability in the English education system as part of the national Climate Ambassador programme funded by the Department for Education.

The Regional Hub Manager for the West Midlands will be one of nine other regional hub Managers that will engage education settings (early years settings, schools, and further education colleges) in the programme and recruit and support volunteer Climate Ambassadors to support education settings to develop and implement climate action plans.

The role holder will work to understand the region's needs and use these insights to shape the national Climate Ambassador programme and adapt the national Climate Ambassador strategies and practices to their local region, delivering these to ensure strong engagement of both education settings and volunteer ambassadors.

The successful candidate will have a degree in an environment-related subject, or relevant experience; have a good understanding and experience of working within the English education system; have a broad understanding of sustainability and climate issues and solutions in education settings; and experience of project managing successful sustainability and/or education initiatives, ideally with experience of rolling them out to wider audiences.

The Regional Hub Manager will be a confident communicator and able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a broad range of individuals, partners and stakeholders, and have strong project management skills.
