The School of Social Sciences is currently seeking to recruit a Lecturer in Education.

The post represents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join a well-established Education team who are part of a multi-disciplinary school. The School brings together academics in Criminology, Education, International Relations, Philosophy, Politics and Sociology to deliver single and combined honours degree courses, pioneering taught postgraduate programmes and postgraduate supervision with world leading researchers.

The successful candidates will have a PhD in Education, or equivalent qualification, and relevant proven experience of undergraduate teaching, assessment and supervision, with clear evidence of ability and willingness to teach at postgraduate level and contribute to the delivery of online programmes.

They will be expected to demonstrate excellent teaching abilities, and relevant administrative skills, and be able to demonstrate the ability to make a strong contribution to research or scholarship activity. We are open to all specialisms in Education, but would particularly welcome applications from those working in international education, early years, and / or education technology.

The post-holders will be responsible for supporting the delivery and development of our undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes, including our on-line degree programmes. They will also contribute to support and supervision for our Professional Doctorate and PhD cohorts.

The post-holders will be expected to make a significant contribution to the range of existing Education modules as well as developing and delivering teaching that reflects their own research specialism(s).

The post-holders will be expected to make a contribution to Education research and inter-disciplinary research across the School; or, if applying under the E and S job family, to make a strong contribution to educational scholarship and development in the discipline of Education, and, in time, to contribute actively to the general academic culture of the subject, School and Faculty.
