The important work you will be doing: As a Tax Manager, you will play a critical role in advisory and compliance projects, review and completion of tax returns for a varied client portfolio. You will identify business development opportunities to contribute towards the development of a larger advisory function, with your key responsibilities being, but not limited to the following:
- Management of P11ds.
- Oversee personal tax returns, supporting junior staff with technical queries.
- Completion of complex tax returns.
- Act as the primary contact for clients, attending meetings, and providing strategic business advisory services.
- Liaise with external bodies and promptly resolve client queries.
- Lead, develop, and mentor a small team, promoting a client-centric and supportive environment.
- Contribute to monthly management meetings, driving operational and cultural improvements.
- Qualified ATT, ACA/ACCA, or CTA (desirable).
- Proven experience managing a diverse client portfolio in an accounting practice.
- In-depth knowledge of tax legislation.
- Strong technical expertise in personal tax and capital allowances for sole traders and partnerships.
- Sound tax advisory knowledge. Owner managed businesses and families covering IHT, CGT, Income Tax and Company Tax issues.
- Experience of corporate restructuring.
- Proficiency in addressing complex tax issues.
- Ability to nurture and maintain strong client relationships, providing excellent advisory services.
- Strong leadership experience with a track record of mentoring and developing teams.
