Woman in 'critical condition' following medical emergency on busy Stoke-on-Trent junction

A woman is in a "critical condition" in hospital after she suffered a medical emergency on one of Stoke-on-Trent's busiest junctions.

Police and paramedics were called to the junction of Newcastle Road/Godwin Way at 3.38pm yesterday.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "Two ambulances attended the scene. On arrival we discovered one patient, a woman, who was in a critical condition.

"Ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support, which continued en-route to Royal Stoke University Hospital."
