A swirling, shape-shifting explosion of song.
Veering from fierce to fragile, Verity Standen's compositions envelop us in the power and poignancy of unaccompanied voices.
11 extraordinary singers, drawn from a range of musical backgrounds, invite you into a unique and visceral sound world. Featuring rich harmony, choreography and playful improvisation, the ensemble meet the challenge of these songs afresh each night - a deeply human, intrinsically live experience.
Verity Standen creates unique and surprising music for voices. Her work has been performed across the UK - from remote Scottish islands to the rooftop of the National Theatre - and around the world. She often composes for specific environments, filling castles, cafes and hospital wards with song. everything slips brings together a collection of her new songs into a concert with a difference.
Restoke are so excited to welcome Verity back to Stoke-on-Trent, we have been lucky enough to collaborate on projects in the past and to finally be able to host a full Verity Standen show in the Ballroom is a dream!
There will be a pre-show performance by the Town Hall Choir starting at 7pm!
