Angels With Dirty Faces is a classic 1930s gangster film, starring James Cagney as Rocky Sullivan, a charismatic tough guy, fresh from spending three years in prison for armed robbery and intent on collecting his share.

Returning to his old haunts he is reunited with his boyhood friend-turned-priest and becomes a hero to a gang of street kids starstruck by his rise through the underworld.

Pat O'Brien, Humphrey Bogart and Ann Sheridan head the support cast in director Michael Curtiz's archetypal crime drama complete with a killer final line in an iconic finale.

This screening of Angels With Dirty Faces continues the Film Theatre's Cinema Ceramica nostalgic programming strand. Presenting classic films from 16mm prints to celebrating film on quite small film.
