Woman dies in Stoke-on-Trent house fire

A woman has sadly passed away following a house fire in Stoke-on-Trent last night (17 Dec).

Fire crews and paramedics were called to Westport Lake Road, Tunstall, at 8.36pm.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "An ambulance and paramedic officer responded to the scene within seven minutes of the 999 call being made.

"Sadly, nothing could be done to save a woman from the property, and she was confirmed dead on scene by paramedics."

Stoke Nub News has approached Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service for comment.
