Carlton Kirby's True Tales of the Tour de France | Mitchell Arts Centre | Hanley | Thur 2 July
Carlton Kirby will be in conversation with former Procycling magazine writer Duncan Steer at the Mitchell Arts Centre on Thuesday 2 July.
The Mitchell Arts Centre said: "On the eve of the 2026 Tour de France, Carlton Kirby, the Voice of Cycling, shares inside stories and frank opinions from his 25 years' covering the sport.
"In a funny and revealing evening for all cycling fans, Carlton will reflect on his front-row experiences from the Tour and other big races – plus the lessons he's learned from life on the road, as a bon viveur in budget hotels across Europe."
Tickets for the 7.30pm event cost £21 including booking fees and are available online.

Nostalgia Days 1940s | U7 Arts and Cultural Centre | Longton | Fri 3 July
U7 Arts and Cultural Centre in Longton will be hosting a 1940s themed event on Friday 3 July from 11am to 2pm.
The free event will feature music and food from the era.
The organisers said: "Bringing the 1940s back. Experience the food many families had to eat during this era. Boogie away to the big bands and the rat pack."
Potteries Artisan Market | Hanley | Sat 4 July
The Potteries Artisan market will return to Upper Market Square and Fountain Square in Hanley on Saturday 4 July in support of Armed Forces Day.
The market will take place from 10am to 4pm and local makers, entertainment and street food.
The organisers said: "The city has received support from the Ministry of Defence to help make Armed Forces Day bigger and better for years to come, and we can't wait to be part of it.
"Whether you're coming to support our Armed Forces community, shop local, enjoy family activities or simply soak up the atmosphere, there's plenty happening all day long."
Rachel Munro Book Signing | Vellichor Books | Hanley | Sat 4 July
Rachel Munro is heading to Vellichor Books, on Saturday 4 July from 1pm to 3pm with her new novel Ephemeral Power.
The event will feature free bubbles, snacks, and a photo-op, with a chance to win a free signed copy.
Vellichor Books said: "Ephemeral Power is a gripping tale of family secrets, hidden abilities and the struggle for control. As paramedics rush to the scene of a shocking incident, a young man's extraordinary powers are unleashed in a moment of desperation."
