Two separate sets of roadworks are planned for a busy road in Stoke-on-Trent this week.

Temporary traffic lights are currently operating on Weston Road, Meir, near the junction for Meir View, to allow Severn Trent to carry out 'utility repair and maintenance works'.

A Severn Trent spokesperson said: "Essential works are taking place on Weston Road to replace a boundary box for one of our customers, and for the safety of the public and our team, traffic management has been put in place.

"We know that traffic lights can be an inconvenience, so we will work as quickly as possible to get this work done, which we expect to be completed on Wednesday (1 May).

"We thank everyone for their patience while our works go ahead."

Traffic control measures are also in place on Weston Coyney Road between 30 April and 2 May (Nub News).

Traffic control measures are also planned for Weston Road on 2 and 3 May, near the junction for Leason Road.

These measures will be in place to allow Openreach to carry out 'remedial works'.

A spokesperson for Openreach said: "Our engineers are building new fibre networks across the area, and will be working here for two days.

"Full fibre brings faster speeds and greater reliability and Openreach's network covers many cities, towns and villages across the West Midlands. They'll be working in the footpath and will keep disruption to a minimum."
