Two men have been jailed for 12 months after a 'large' cannabis grow was found in Stoke-on-Trent.
Florjan Dani and Klajid Qerimi, both 26 and of no fixed address, were sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court today (Friday 15 May) after admitting producing a controlled drug of class B – cannabis.
Dani and Qerimi have both been jailed for 12 months.
PC Elias Casey, of the Stoke-on-Trent north local policing team, led the investigation.
He said: "Cannabis grows are often linked to serious organised crime and often involve the exploitation of vulnerable people.
"We will continue to act upon intelligence and take robust action against those responsible for cannabis cultivation in Stoke-on-Trent and wider Staffordshire."
It comes after officers entered an address on Newcastle Street, Burslem, on 17 December last year following intelligence that cannabis was being grown.
Officers seized around 300 cannabis plants and associated equipment and Dani and Qerimi were both arrested at the scene.
Despite answering 'no comment' when they were interviewed in custody, they both later admitted the offence in court.
