Two men arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following Stoke-on-Trent assault

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was 'seriously assaulted' in Stoke-on-Trent.
Staffordshire Police was called to Bucknall New Road in Hanley following concerns for the welfare of a man at 4.20pm yesterday (Sunday 10 May).
Officers attended and found a man, in his 30s, on Hillcrest Street with a "serious head injury".
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "A Midlands Air Ambulance landed on Huntbach Street and treated a man who was then taken to hospital by ambulance.
"He remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital."
Officers then attended a property on Wellington Street following reports that the assault had taken place there.
Two men were detained a short time later.
A 53-year-old man and a 52-year-old man, both from Stoke-on-Trent, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
They remain in police custody while inquiries continue.
